ESG: Myths and Facts – A session conducted by British International Investment
February 14, 2023
We held an educational and awareness session on ESG by Huma Yusuf Director of Business Integrity at British International Investment. In this session she helped break down misconceptions and myths around ESG reporting and made a business case for what effective ESG risk management can do for the health of a business.
She started the session by first highlighting differences between ESG and impact Vs ESG as operations and risk management.
“ESG is not CSR” she said “Sustainability comes out of good ESG risk management. Your business operations will become more resilient and hence your business model will be more adaptive to new challenges. Employees and customers will have greater retention if they feel they are working for/supporting a business that aligns with good ESG values.”
The session was well received and attended by representatives from Pakistan Cables Limited, GSK, Sapphire Finishing Mills, Zero-point Partners, Artistic Milliners, Yunus Textile Mills Limited, Swiss Business Council and ASA Microfinance Bank.
