Gender Equality is a fundamental human right and important for a sustainable world. CERB believes in advocating for economic empowerment for women to boost Pakistan’s economy and creating equal workplaces where both men and women can excel. This is beneficial for all individuals to achieve their full potential, for the economy to utilize the skills and productivity of the workforce efficiently, and for society to increase social cohesion.
Pakistan’s female participation rate remains low at 22%. The gender gap is decreasing but the female labor force participation remains low in urban areas particularly. The culture in Pakistan around women’s economic participation is unfriendly and poses many challenges for women once they are married and have children. At CERB, we believe effective recruitment and retention HR practices are critical when it comes to increasing female participation rate. We need to create safe and dignified workplaces for women so they are able to participate as full economic actors in Pakistan’s development and growth.
As part of the SDG leadership programme, CERB manages awareness sessions and workshops on SDG targets for SDG 5: Gender Equality. CERB can also help companies with building their female talent pipeline and build capacity for women in leadership roles; please look at our services page for more details.
